Watch straps to match your different outfits
Just like other jewelry and accessories, your watches must be adapted to your outfit. It is therefore important to choose your watch bands according to what you are wearing, or the other way around.
A bracelet to match every outfit
The same rule that applies to watch bands applies to all other accessories and jewelry. So, if your shoes and your belt must match, preferably with the same material, but especially with the same color, there is no reason why this requirement should not apply to your watch strap. So, if you have a watch with a leather strap, try, as much as possible, to have the color of the strap be similar or at least close to the color of your belt and shoes, especially if it is a formal outfit or an evening or party outfit like the one you are wearing to a wedding.
If you wear a watch with a metal band, you no longer need to match the color of the leather on your shoes and belt, but with the other metal parts of your outfit. So, if you have a copper-colored belt buckle, it might be worthwhile to opt for a watch with a color close to it.
This principle can also be applied to the combination of watch and cufflinks. If you wear both, make sure they are in the same colors.
Dress shoes or sneakers?
Also, pay attention to your dress style. For an outfit, especially if you wear dress shoes. With dress shoes, choose dress watches, preferably with leather straps. If you wear sneakers, you can complete your look with a sports watch with a metal or even plastic strap.
Finally, don’t forget to match the color of your watch face with your outfit. For example, watches with light-toned dials should be worn with daytime outfits, while darker dials, such as gray, black, brown or khaki, should be worn with evening wear.
